SCL POLICIES

Suspension and Withdrawal of Certification

When certification may be suspended or withdrawn, and what withdrawal of a standard means.

When certification may be suspended

Certification may be suspended when, for example:

  • The certified client breaches the terms of the contract, for example by failing to pay the audit fees.
  • The client fails to close major nonconformities within the set time.
  • The client has persistently failed to maintain the approved management system.
  • The client voluntarily requests suspension of the certification.

What does withdrawal of an ISO standard mean?

If an ISO standard is withdrawn, it means it is no longer relevant at the international level. No further work will be done to maintain or update a withdrawn standard.
